Francois du Toit has taken on the title of road captain for 2016. Francois lives in Lexington with his wife and kids. He is an ex-Cat3 looking to get back on the race circuit this year:
“The main aim for 2016 is to build a core group of road riders that we can grow over the next 3 seasons. But the main aim is to have fun, keep fit and stay safe
There are tons of rides each year, but we’ll start with a few pre-selected goals to build around. This allows the team members to stay focused on the goals, while still allowing you to enjoy the rest of the season with their regular ride groups.
…But what about me? I’ve had a love affair with my bike for almost 30 years, but over the last 2 years I’ve been able to take it a little more seriously. I’m new to the Boston riding scene having move here last year from a stint in Singapore. Riding in SG is fast & competitive, but the scene here…and with KIT…is equally edgy and arguably more fun. I’ve ridden Cat3 stage races around Asia but being new to USACycling means I will be starting 2016 as a Cat5.
As a reminder, KIT isn’t planning on replacing your regular club rides. We are aiming to fill the need for those who want to race & who’s clubs don’t offer a racing team…or for those who agree our racing team gear looks better and we have more fun.”
