The KIT for Kids Bike Day event is back for 2021!
Last year’s inaugural edition of the event was a big success. The weather was perfect and spirits were high. COVID restrictions made it a bit of a challenge but we taught kids how to ride bikes, use hand signals, corner, balance, and even go over a bike ramp! A truly amazing day. In case you missed it, here’s the video from last year and an article in the Jamaica Plain Gazette.
The 2nd annual KIT for Kids Bike Day event will be held on June 5th, 2021
What is KIT for Kids Bike Day? The goal is to get kids on bikes and teach them how to ride. The event serves a community of children, ages 5-12 years old, who have not had the opportunity to learn to ride. It is free and will incorporate several bike activities focusing on learning to ride, safety, and skills. Bikes and helmets will be provided.
The event is a true collaborative effort and will involve volunteers from Keep It Tight, Hope Worldwide, Boston Police, Boston Church of Christ, and Landry’s Bikes of Boston.
Covid-19 precautions will be in effect and social distancing will be maintained as much as possible. The event is capped at 25 kids.
